Student Internship Programmes
The University of Cambridge has developed two student internship programmes with partners from industry and academia in India. These are with the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bangalore and Tata Sons in Mumbai. The internships will provide Cambridge students the opportunity to work for a summer on a research project in the areas of developmental biology and stem cells (NCBS) or social entrepreneurship (Tata Sons group companies). Internship places will be offered on a competitive basis and successful applicants will be provided with a stipend for their stay in India (in Indian Rupees).

AstraZeneca India Summer Internship Programme
In partnership with AstraZeneca India (AZI), the University of Cambridge has developed an internship programme for summer project work at AZ's research and development facilities in Bangalore, India. The key objective is to provide students of biological, pharmaceutical, chemical sciences and engineering (chemical) a hands-on experience of the research methodologies and techniques within the environment of a pharmaceutical research organization engaged in drug discovery and process R&D.
Places are available for 2 Internships, one each in Discovery Research and Process R&D. The internship will be for 8 weeks between July and September at the AZI research and process development facilities in Bangalore India.
National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) Summer Internship Programme
In partnership with the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore, India, the University of Cambridge has agreed an internship programme that will provide students with the opportunity to work for a summer project at NCBS. The agreement was signed by the previous Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University, Professor Alison Richard and the Director of NCBS, Professor K VijayRaghavan in January 2008. Places are available for up to 4 students to spend 8 weeks at NCBS in July and August.

Tata International Social Entrepreneurship Scheme (Tata ISES)
The University of Cambridge, the University of California, Berkeley, and the London School of Economics are joint participants in Tata ISES, an innovative international student internship programme launched by the Tata Group. Tata ISES offers students the opportunity to work on social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility projects within the Tata Group of Companies in India.
Successful applicants to the Tata ISES scheme may be eligible for support from the Cambridge India Partnership Fund. However, applications are collated and managed through the Tata ISES administrator at the Centre for India and Global Business at the Cambridge Judge Business School.
