Cambridge and India

The British Council promotes internationalism by encouraging and supporting international students arriving in the UK for education, and UK students undertaking study in India, providing support and services to UK universities. Their work in supporting higher education consists mainly of two programmes. The first is Internationalising Higher Education (IHE), and the second is a multi-partner programme called UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI). IHE facilitates policy dialogues and partnerships, promotes scholarships, student mobility and alumni engagement. UKIERI aims to enhance educational links between India and the UK by supporting partnerships across all thematic areas.

IHE offers a number of prestigious scholarships to Indian students, which may be tenable at the University of Cambridge, in addition to the Dr Manmohan Singh Graduate Scholarship which is available exclusively for admission to Cambridge. Further details of these opportunities are available on the British Council's websites here, and here.
